India announces 15-member squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Rohit Sharma to lead, Hardik Pandya to be vice-captain

Squad closely resembles current Asia Cup team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, while Hardik Pandya has been named vice-captain.

The squad includes several players who are currently participating in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 campaign, including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

India is one of the favorites to win the World Cup, which will be held in India in October and November 2023. The team has won the tournament twice before, in 1983 and 2011.
